I love oxtails and I tasted BBQ oxtails in Trinidad and Tobago in 2020 and enjoyed it. The only thing though, the oxtails were still a bit tough. Today I am sharing with you a BBQ oxtails recipe (that are prepared in the oven) and the oxtails are nice and tender. Enjoy!!
Ingredients
1 tablespoon homemade green seasoning
2 pounds oxtails
1/4 teaspoon
cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika powder
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Method
Remove the oxtails from the packaging and wash thoroughly. Transfer to a mixing bowl, add some water and juice of one lime. Allow the oxtails to soak in the lime water for about 15 minutes.
Through out the lime water and wash the oxtails again. Season the oxtails with 1 tablespoon homemade green seasoning. Add salt, black pepper and the other seasonings listed above. Mix all these ingredients together well.
Transfer the seasoned oxtails to a baking dish. Set oven at 350 degrees. Place the baking dish with the oxtails into oven and allow the oxtails to cook for 1 hour and 30 minutes
