Savory Dasheen (Taro Leaves) Pie

Savory Dasheen Leaves Pie (made with dasheen leaves aka taro leaves)

1 bundle of dasheen aka taro leaves finely chopped
1 carrot grated
grated cheese
3 pimentos thinly sliced
1/2 cup oil
1 cup evaporated milk
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon all purpose seasoning


Put the cut up dasheen aka taro leaves into a mixing bowl.  Add the grated carrots and seasoning peppers and mix together well.  In another mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder and all purpose seasoning and mix together.

Now lets deal with the liquid ingredients.  Mix the eggs, milk and oil together well.

Transfer the flour mixture to the bowl with the dasheen aka taro leaves and carrots.  Mix together well.  Add the liquid ingredients and mix together.  Transfer to greased baking dish and sprinkle with some grated cheese.

Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit /177 degrees Celsius.  When hot, put the baking dish into the oven and allow the pie to bake for 45 minutes.
