How To Make Green Split Peas Fritters

I have never cooked or eaten green split peas before so this is my first recipe with green split peas.

1 cup green split peas
salt to taste
black pepper
1-2 tablespoons all purpose flour


Put the green split peas in a bowl and allow the peas to soak over night.* The next day, throw out the water and place with the other ingredients into a food processor to grind to a nice smooth consistency.

Add the flour and mix together well. Take a tablespoon of the mixture and form into a circular shape and set aside. Continue this process until all the mixture has been used up.

Put a frying pay on the stove to hot. Add some oil. When the oil is nice and hot, place the circular shapes of the mixture into the frying pay and allow to get golden brown on each side. Remove from frying pay and place on a plate lined with paper towel.

* Another version to this is to simply put the peas to boil and get tender. This should take about 20 minutes. After that throw out the water.
